I've been building web applications since 2006, taking on various roles along the way — from Software Developer and Lead Developer to CTO and Head of Research and Development, and today Web Tech Lead at Situm.
Across every project the goal has been the same: build meaningful, reliable tools that have a real impact on people's lives.

01 — The stack
The stack
Server side
The journey began with Ruby and PHP before expanding into Go. Most recently it's been Node.js and Java/Spring Boot, building high-performance microservices and distributed systems.
Client side
From the early days of the web — VanillaJS and jQuery, through AngularJS and Angular 2 — and finally to React, which has become my main focus for building modern, high-performance interfaces.
My interests revolve around web performance optimization, sustainable engineering, and promoting open-source technologies that foster collaboration and long-term maintainability.

Web Tech Lead — since 2020
Senior Software Developer — 2019–2020
I lead the web technology at Situm, an indoor positioning company serving people and robots across multiple industries. My work is the visual layer of Situm's products: designing and building the map viewer and its 3D layers, and turning complex spatial data into intuitive, high-performance web experiences that power advanced business intelligence.
For close to twenty years I've contributed to the GNOME project — translating its modules into Galician, and building and maintaining the i18n tooling that streamlines the translation workflow for contributors worldwide. I'm a long-time member of the GNOME Foundation, and I coordinated the Galician translation team for Ubuntu.
I spent a decade building high-performance tools and large-scale systems for the media industry. I led the development of Opennemas, a news publishing platform that let journalists manage and deliver online content to millions of readers.
Early in my career I worked as an open-source software consultant at the University of Santiago de Compostela, building a custom Linux-based desktop to simplify administrative workflows and leading large-scale migrations to open source in educational environments. The work earned the Libre Software Award in Galicia.
